Shiva Lingam - The Sacred Stone of Love, Marriage and Fertility

Updated: Aug 23, 2021

In India, Shiva Lingams are holy sacred stones, greatly revered in Hindu and Buddhist belief systems. Their high vibrational energy source is used to bless couples with true love, a happy marriage and fertility.

In Sanskrit, Lingam means phallus. The shape of the stone is symbolic of the phallus of the Hindu God Shiva and his union with his consort Kali. In India, unmarried women pray to Lord Shiva and chant for a happy, blessed marriage.

The stones are made of crypto crystalline quartz and are found in the Narmada river, in the mountains of Mandhata in India. Their shape is believed to be naturally created by the stones tumbling in the river. They are harvested once a year and hand polished to give a smooth, gleaming surface. No two stones are the same. Their colour and pattern vary from grey to beige, to brown and reddish brown.
